Pixelmator Pro Whirlwind Appears on the Horizon

Pixelmator on Tuesday unveiled Pixelmator Pro 1.0 Whirlwind, a high-powered version of its popular photo editing application for macOS. Whirlwind will be available this fall. The app’s interface has gotten an overhaul — it’s now in a single window with no floating toolbars — and it boasts new nondestructive, GPU-powered image editing tools and enhanced machine-learning features.

Has Photobucket Painted Itself Into a Corner?

Various celebrities over the years have “broken the Internet” when risqué photos or shocking revelations surfaced, with or without their knowledge or approval. Photo hosting service Photobucket may have surpassed Kim Kardashian’s most notorious stunts, though. The company recently changed its user agreement for the hosting of images on third-party sites, and truly may have broken the Internet.

Apple Puts Its User-Friendly Stamp on Fancy iPhone 7 Cameras

Apple raised the ante for cameras in flagship phones with the announcement of its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Others already have taken the dual-camera approach to smartphone photography — notably HTC, LG and Huawei. “While it’s not the first dual camera mounted in a smartphone, it’s on par with the others in terms of basic functionality,” said Brian Blau, a research director for Gartner.
